BEACH YOGA

2022/23

Classes 9am daily from 27 December 2022

Join us this summer to invigorate your body and cleanse your mind, breathing in fresh ocean air, accompanied by the sound of the ocean waves. Beach Yoga mornings are magic.

Our team of leading yoga teachers can’t wait to bring you the best of their teachings. All our classes are designed to lengthen and strengthen your body, cleanse your mind and recharge your energy, combining movement and breath in all practices. We can’t wait to connect to our beach yoga community who return year after year, and welcome new students. Classes are suitable for beginners and experienced yogis. And best of all, you get to practice in the world’s most beautiful yoga studio – the beach!

After another challenging year, we are allocating time at the end of each class for meditation. Each morning you will be guided through a simple but effective practice to create ongoing mental balance and resilience. Meditation can be practiced lying down or sitting up and it’s benefits will stay with you for the year to come.

We practice in most weather conditions. Just wear some layers on a cool day and bring a hat and sunscreen when it’s sweltering. If we need to cancel class due to weather, this will be communicated 30 minutes before class on our Instagramand Facebook pages. The weather often isn’t accurate so it’s always worth to come on the day and check the weather on the beach.

Just bring a beach towel to practice on and make sure to make most out of our season, as it’s only running a few weeks from 27 December onwards.

Single class tickets, 5 or 10 passes and season pass available.

To Pamela and Yoga Sanctuary Team, I have been attending the beach yoga at fisherman’s beach for 3 years now,  it’s my saviour over the festive season.  A little mummy time each morning to walk down to the beach, give my body a stretch, breath some fresh air and feel relaxed to start each day. Doesn’t get much better than that! 💓Alycia (Mornington)

I love feeling the breeze, and smelling the beach smells, the sand, the water, it makes me feel really connected with nature and grounded for the rest of the day. Ruth (Mt Eliza)

Beach Yoga helps me feel fit, calm, and connected. I love the community that forms through Beach Yoga. Its great for meeting like-minded people and sharing a cuppa after class. Joey (Mt Martha)

“Yoga on the beach is such a beautiful way to connect into yourself & into nature. There’s something really quite magical about  practicing yoga with a sea breeze on your face & sand beneath your toes. Frequently Asked Questions

What style of yoga do you teach?

We teach traditional yoga that combines movement and breath. Our teachers draw from many traditions of yoga and each class is a little different! Some days your physical yoga practice will become a moving meditation. Other days join us to cultivate strength, stretch and learn new breathing and relaxation techniques. All classes are safe, fun and beginner friendly. The perfect start into your summer days.

What if I am a beginner?

We welcome people of all ages and stages to our classes. Our instructors love introducing beginners to yoga on the beach. It’s a wonderful place to get a taste of yoga. Just let your teacher know that you are new to yoga (and tell them about any injuries) and they will keep a special eye on you.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

It’s up to you! If you prefer practicing on your own mat, please bring it along. We generally suggest to bring a beach towel to keep things simple. Some venues also have mats for hire.

Can I share my 10-class or season pass with my family and friends?

Our 10 class passes can be shared amongst family and friends. Purchasing a pass for the whole family, or a group of friends is a great way to save money, and do a fun activity together that promotes health and wellbeing for everybody.

Our season passes are non-transferable. It’s yours for the season.

Can I use my pass across different venues?

Yes! Many students love exploring our different Beach Yoga Venues. You can use your pass for all our four venues. What a great way to see and experience our stunning beaches.

Can I pay cash for a class, weekend pass, 5-class or ten-class pass?

You can pay cash for all classes and passes at each venue.

What if it rains?

Beach Yoga runs in most weather conditions. On days with rain predicted, we will be at the venues to see the conditions first hand. Weather can move through quickly and even the weather radar at times can prove to be in error. We find some of the best days when being exposed to the elements, or practising for a short while in drizzle. Just make sure to wear some layers. If we get rained out during class, you will receive a free pass to another class. (30 mins is considered a full class if this is the case).

I have purchased a season pass, ten-class pass, or weekend pass. Do I need to book into individual classes?

You don’t need to book into any sessions with a season pass, ten class pass or weekend pass. Just turn up whenever you like. You can use the pass at all our locations – Mornington, Mc Crae and Phillip Island.
